What’s the job title called for someone who assesses companies to show them where to cut costs, etc.?

Question by Weefy12: What’s the job title called for someone who assesses companies to show them where to cut costs, etc.?
My friend told me the job title and I’ve been interested in taking this up as a possible career, but I forgot the name. The job description is the person assesses several companies and shows them where to cut costs to yield a greater profit.
I think John C. McGinley, the actor from Scrubs, plays a role in Office Space as the job title I’m looking for.

There are any number of jobs that do this…usually a business consultant or a business process analyst. Additionally, industrial engineers look at the problem from a production point of view (efficiency, etc.).
